You've got mail !

Make life easy, and save a few trees, by signing up to receive overdue notices via email and/or SMS.

To receive an SMS when your books are overdue contact your nearest branch to update your registration details and tell them you'd like to have your notices sent to you via your mobile phone.

To receive your notices via email you can either contact your nearest branch or go online today and update your details yourself on our website.

Go to www.crl.nsw.gov.au , click on the catalogue button and then enter your library card number and PIN in the Login box.

Click on the Personal Details tab and once you've checked through the details here down the bottom you can supply your email address and tick the box which says "receive your library notices by email".

So, should you have any overdue library items you'll receive an email instead of a letter.

Homework help just a click away

Inline Image

Clarence Regional Library has a number of ideas to help you with your homework , inlcuding a fairly comprehensive list of weblinks across most subject areas.

For targeted help with assistance from teacher-qualified tutors nothing beats Your Tutor  for guidance with Highschool homework and assignments. Your Tutor is available Monday - Friday from 4pm - 8pm.   YourTutor is a unique learning service that connects students via the internet to qualified tutors providing assistance with Mathematics, English, Science, assignments research, exam preparation and study skills.    You must be a member of Clarence Regional Library to use this service.

Targeted HSC resources include Infocus  - linking students studying for the HSC with information available from the State Library of NSW. Specialist staff research the vast collections of the State Reference and Mitchell Libraries to identify HSC-related resources that represent a diversity of viewpoints and text types, including reproductions of rare and unique heritage materials.

Infocus provides material that is:

  • specially chosen for its relevance to HSC topics, texts and issues
  • drawn from Australian and international sources
  • often hard to locate without visiting the State Library of New South Wales
  • copyright cleared so that it can be maintained in member libraries collections

You can find Infocus articles on the library catalogue and if we don't hold an article you need for your assignment, let us know and we'll order it in for you. The only cost to you is the cost of photocopying (some articles range in length from 3 pages to 33 pages). All Infocus articles are held at Headquarters.

February's Hot Pick

February's Recommended Reads lists some bright new titles at Clarence Regional Library . One hot new title, publicised as being the answer to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series is Fallen by Lauren Kate.

What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?

17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

The first in a four-part series, Fallen is a dangerously exciting thriller and darkly romantic love story.
